Bead Soup Reveal #1

This is my first Bead Soup Swap and I am really excited! I had all my pieces made and was heading to the beach for Easter break with my extended family, a perfect setting for taking pictures. One problem, I remembered the necklace and forgot the earrings.
I will post pictures of the earrings when we get home, probably Tuesday.

Here is my soup that I received from Breana.
Check out her blog here:  Vault 31

I was really stumped on what to do with the pieces I received.  I usually don't work with any gold parts and pieces.  I have some gold chains, but they were way to fine for my ideas.  I picked out this brass chain and found I was very pleased with the look next to the gold.  I then created dangles with the unique head pins that were in my soup.
Something was still not right with the necklace, so I dug into my stash and found the flower shaped double drilled shell that went perfect with the pieces Breana sent me.
After messing around trying to wire wrap it onto the chain, I gave up.  It was not what I was looking for.
Then there to my right sitting on my table was the beautiful hand died seam binding from Karen Lackey.  Check out her Etsy shop at Starshine Salon.

Check out the other amazing artists and what they did with their bead soup!
Happy Hopping Everyone!
Just one last picture - This was the sunset overlooking the sound in the distance, just before I sat down to work on this blog.
This is what I will be looking at today as I check out all the amazing Bead Soup Blogs!

  1. Hi partner! I'm glad you were able to come up with something pretty even though it was outside of your normal elements! I have learned a lot for next time too. Thanks for swapping with me. I had fun with this. And that sunset looks great! We are still dealing with snow on the ground here in the Midwest :(

  42. Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your post seem to be running off the screen
in Ie. I'm not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I figured I'd post to let you know.
The layout look great though! Hope you get the problem resolved soon.
    Many thanks
